Tambour Cabinet Doors
A tambour cabinet door is type of cabinet door construction by joining lots of individual sections of material to each other and to a backing material so that the whole thing remains flexible. By attaching this to a track system, this allows for a unit that can be roll up or around.
Also known as roller shutters or kitchen cassette systems, tambour cabinet doors are usually useful in odd spaces in the modern kitchen, like corner cabinets in a kitchen, or anywhere where having the door remain open and in the way is an inconvenience. They can be very stylish and can save on space, especially in the smaller kitchen. They are often also found in use in garages and offices to save space. They are usually constructed from wood in the kitchen but can also be made from stainless steel.
